It’s time for a little summer lovin’ in the Bay Area! Sure, dinner and a movie is always an excellent fallback option for date night with your SO, but why not kick it up a notch during these steamy months and try out something new and fresh.
HIT UP A ROOFTOP BAR The views are amazing and the Instagram potential is huge. With this summa’ heat fully upon us, a shady outdoor cocktail is basically a must.
HAVE A PICNIC The possibilities for this one are truly endless. Find a quaint bench with a gorgeous view, spread out a blanket at the park, or drive up the coast and open up the trunk! Whichever you choose, no one can resist the charm of an al fresco meal for two.
GO FOR A BIKE RIDE Get your heart rate up by hitting a few mountain biking trails or by simply enjoying a leisurely ride along a scenic path. It’s healthy, it’s eco-friendly, and it’s just plain fun!
GO FOR A DIP A hot tub is definitely out of the question when temperatures in the Bay reach sweltering heights, but luckily, there are far cooler spots to splash around with your boo. Take a hike to a hidden swimming hole, dive into one of the area’s most gorgeous swimming pools, or leisurely float down a river.
GO SAILING Sail away on a sea of love together! You can make it an educational date night where you both participate in a sailing lesson or you can skip the skipper lessons and instead opt for a relaxing sail on a charter boat while someone else steers. The Chardonnay in Santa Cruz is the perfect choice for sailing into the sunset with complimentary wine and Hors d’oeuvres.
EAT AT A FOOD TRUCK The only tough part about this idea will be deciding which food truck to choose. The Bay Area is home to an enormous number of food trucks, each with something uniquely delicious to offer. If you want to maximize the variety, consider heading to something like Off the Grid for a meal on wheels you won’t soon forget.
HAVE A BONFIRE ON THE BEACH This is a great one because it combines so many romantic things into one — views, beach, booze, sunset/stars, etc. Obviously, not all beaches are cool with a blaze, so do your research beforehand. Get a little decadent with it and bring some stuff for s’mores and maybe even some sparkling beverages.
